This north central US state may not be able to boast much vertical - the most you'll find round here is about 240 metres (700 feet). But there are over twenty ski resorts in Wisconsin offering reasonable variety, some nice long runs and several decent terrain parks.

Bordering two of the Great Lakes, Wisconsin has little trouble conjuring up nature's finest during the winter months. And this makes for some pretty good cross country skiing. Not only do many of the resorts have extensive cross-country trails in Wisconsin, but there's around 1,000 kms of groomed trails at your disposal, running through the state's parks and forests.
