- Andorra - No longer an über-budget destination, but still a good alternative to the Alps.
- Austria - Fantastic off piste and in-bounds terrain, with slick resorts and easy access.
- Cyprus - Limited terrain, but a novel destination within reach of the shores of the Med.
- Finland - Long, cold winters make this a great destination for cross-country skiers.
- France - Over 200 resorts, with the terrain, après-ski and infrastructure to suit skiers and boarders of all shapes and sizes.
- Germany - Good terrain to suit all levels, with some resorts only two hours from Munich.
- Greece - Limited for experts, but reasonable terrain for those either on a budget or looking for somewhere a bit different.
- Iceland - Famous for hard-packed snow and ice, but only half an hour from the capital ReykjavÃk.
- Italy - More affordable than its neighbours, with fantastic terrain, great party towns and a laid-back atmosphere.
- Norway - Extensive cross-country, guaranteed snow and a good alternative to skiing and boarding the more popular destinations in Europe.
- Portugal - Very limited skiing and boarding, but possible as a weekend break for the snow-starved.
- Scotland - High winds and unpredictable snowfall, but reasonably accessible resorts for day trips.
- Spain - Great terrain within easy-reach of some of Europe’s most fantastic cities, and an après-ski scene that goes on till dawn.
- Sweden - Snow-sure from December to May with 24 hours of daylight in late spring.
- Switzerland - Perfect corduroy, great high-mountain terrain with heli-skiing and smart resorts.
