Considering that Trentino-Alto Adige/Sudtirol was once part of Austria and still shares the same massive lump of rock as its Austrian name sake (Tyrol), it's perhaps not all that surprising that there's some pretty good skiing and snowboarding to be found here.

There are well over 100 ski resorts in this region of Italy so, like Lombardy, there's pretty much something for everyone here ... and a little extra to boot.

What you get in Trentino-Alto Adige/Sudtirol is access to more piste on one ticket than anywhere else in the world. The Dolomites Superski pass lets you ski or snowboard 12 ski areas, ride 460 lifts and explore 1,220 kms of piste - all on the same lift pass.

Trentino-Alto Adige/Sudtirol is also home to the Sella Mountain, and the famous Sella Ronda - the tour that enables you to go clockwise or anti-clockwise through the valleys of Val Gardena, Alta Badia and Val di Fassa in a single day - if you've got the stamina!
