Juneau Retail and hire

Juneau's downtown streets are lined with treasures

Sure, you'll find plenty of souvenirs in local gift shops, but when it comes to serious shopping you'll definitely want to take home something uniquely Juneau.

Coffee lovers can pick up some of Heritage Coffee's wide variety of specialty roasts (the company has been satisfying Juneau's caffeine fix for 34 years). If you prefer refreshment of a different kind, pick up something from the Alaskan Brewing Company, whose beers have garnered international awards. For the chocolate aficionados, Alaskan Fudge Company should be your first stop. And you can't leave town without a taste of the area's incredible smoked salmon. Local providers will prepare and pack your selection (ice and all) so you can take it with you or have it shipped directly back home.

Art collectors will have plenty to spend their cash on, too. Juneau's stunning natural landscape has inspired many artists, whose works are displayed throughout the city. Sculpture and carved totem poles are also popular art pieces. Take a walk downtown or in the Mendenhall Valley shopping districts to find something that strikes your fancy.

For Alaskan bling, hit the local specialty shops for limited edition designer and beautiful Native Alaska jewelry. Native carved silver bracelets with totemic designs are also excellent choices. And Juneau is home to world-renowned designer of all things “pin,” William Spear, and Wm Spear Design. With over 800 designs to peruse, the shop on South Franklin Street is surely Juneau’s most unusual retail outlet.
