The Canadian Rockies Express

high speed quad chairlift was installed in the suummer of 2009 and began operatingin the 2009-10 season. This is the longest high speed quad chair in the Canadian Rockies and has completely transformed the Marmot Basin ski experience. This new,state-of-the-art chairlift, whisks skiers and snowboarders up 1,955 vertical feet (596m) at lightning speed meaning skiers and snowboarders spend more time on the snow and less time riding ski lifts. Imagine skiing 21,505 vertical feet (6,556m) and 27 miles (44 km) after only 11 rides on the Canadian Rockies Express!

Since 2003, Marmot Basin has invested over $16 million

in new developments and infrastructure at the ski area.

New terrain has opened, state-of-the-art ski lifts have been

installed, an award winning, environmentally friendly

snowmaking system put in place, and there have been

extensive renovations to the rental shop, guest services

centre and on-mountain lodges and chalets.

In the summer of 2009, Marmot Basin installed a new high

speed quad chairlift that is the longest high speed quad in

the Canadian Rockies. During the summer of 2011, Marmot

will be installing another new high speed quad chair in the

“upper area” along with a triple chair on the lower portion

of the mountain.

Marmot Basin’s shareholder group is commmitted to long

term, sustainable growth of the ski area and have been

making significant improvments to the ski area every year.

This is a very exciting time for the ski area, the community

of Jasper and for skiers and snowboarders who have or will

have the opportunity to experience this special and unique

national park ski area.
