Grindelwald

The Eiger-village of Grindelwald lies at 1034 metres at the foot of the Eiger and is surrounded by ice-capped peaks. Grindelwald is easily reached on good roads.

In summer the mountains around Grindelwald constitute a unique walking and mountain biking region. Here the guest can decide between leisurely walks at altitude or tours on the glaciers and in the high-Alps to the world-famous summits of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. On a culinary level though, the village at the Eiger also has much to offer: from exquisite Gault-Millau menus down to a wholesome cheese platter. A trip to the 3454 metre-high Jungfraujoch in the midst of the UNESCO World Heritage Site is a particularly special experience.

In winter Grindelwald is an unsurpassable winter sport resort and also the largest resort in the Jungfrau Region. With the First and Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen ski regions Grindelwald offers unlimited pleasure on the slopes for skiers and snowboarders. There are, however, also numerous opportunities for non-skiers: 80 km of winter footpaths and 50 km of toboggan runs invite you to come and have fun. The numerous sun terraces or wellness complexes are a great alternative for the less sporty.
