New Artificial Ski Slope Planned For Polish Capital (01-Jun-11)

A landfill site at Radiowo, close to the centre of Poland’s capital..

A landfill site at Radiowo, close to the centre of Poland’s capital, Warsaw, is in line to be converted in to a year round extreme sports venue.

The site is scheduled to be closed by 2014 and it is hoped the new facility will be open by 2017.

The plans include a permanent half pipe and a year-round artificial surface slope within the 80 metre deep site – a slope descending over that big would be one of the world’s largest.

The North Face sponsored a Big Air Contest at a purpose-built snow-park at the foot of the
magnificent Tatra Mountains in Poland.
