Kitzbuhel Gets a New Six Seater (13-Sep-11)

Kitzbühel has announced it’s installing a new six -seater chairlift for the coming
winter.

The new Resterhöhe lift will have a pull-down weather protection hood and seat heating and will replace the former Resterhöhe chairlift as well as the Moseralm T Bar.

A new attraction awaits skiers and boarders on the slopes at Scheffau...

A new attraction awaits skiers and boarders on the slopes at Scheffau in the Austrian SkiWelt next winter.

The resort’s new ‘Ski movie’ slope will give lift pass holders the chance to be automatically filmed as they descend the slope.

The system works when holders of one of the electronic ski passes valid at the resort (a Ski Welt, Kitzbuhel Alps or Tirol Snowcard ticket) passes through an electronic hands free gate.


Toboggan Until 3am In The SkiWelt (13-Jun-11)

Austria’s largest ski area, the SkiWelt...

Austria’s largest ski area, the SkiWelt, has announced a host of upgrades for next winter 2011-12.

The Moon Toboggan course will be floodlit from 7pm to 3am and run for 3.5km (over two miles) down the Stockalm from the top of the Hochsoll gondola.

The run will also have snowmaking cover and toboggans can be rented at the base station.

Other news from the region includes more snow making and a new beginner’s lift at Going.

The Kaunertal Glacier in the Austrian Tirol is currently staging the Monster Energy Spring classics series right through to 22nd May.

The five weeks long program of spring activities on the glacier give skiers and boarders the chance to make the most of skiing and snowboarding on the glacier in the mornings and then enjoy activities in the valley in the afternoon.

The snowpark is reported to be in great condition and there are camps running such as the DC Team
