In a recent letter to the editor in Pique Newsmagazine, Tavia “Tavalanche” Pursell shared why she thought that 89 year-old George Huxtable should be one of the first to ride the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola.

The Gondola Full of Gear Contest is big, really big. The grand prize is worth an estimated $25,000. The contest is exactly what it sounds like: enough winter gear to fill an entire PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola cabin.

Thanks to cold temperatures and 30+ centimeters of new snow on Saturday, skiers and riders will be welcomed back to Coronet Peak tomorrow Tuesday 30th September.

The ski area had closed for the season on Saturday, September 20 but a return to winter conditions and plenty of school holiday demand has led to a decision to reopen.
