The Kronplatz ski area in Italy’s Dolomiti Superski region has announced it will add a new gondola next winter taking its total to 22. Already operating more gondola lists than any other ski area on the planet, Krontplatz, which has 100km of runs, will also add a new 7km long run and has announced that it plans to speed up two of its existing gondolas while cutting the number of passengers in each cabin for added comfort.

Skiers and snowboarders in Queenstown, New Zealand, are rejoicing as the snow falls and falls and falls in the mountains surrounding the South Island resort town.

The snow started yesterday (Wednesday 6 July) bringing freezing temperatures and snow to low levels.  Forecasts predict a storm pattern that is expected to continue into next week, dumping snow on the picturesque Southern Alps ski areas.

62cm Of Sensational Snow Since Monday Has Falling At Perisher

It doesn't get much better than this.

Mother Nature has been generous to us at Perisher this winter. We've had one of the best starts to a season in many years and now she has delivered another 62cm of fresh snow in the past few days and it's still coming down!

There are wind-drifts up to 3m deep in places across all FOUR RESORT AREAS.

The British Freeski Camps 2011 are running...

The British Freeski Camps 2011 are running from the 9th July to 6th August in Saas Fee. The camps are open to all ages and standards and will be focused on making freestyle and freeride skiing more available to recreational skiers and ski instructors that want to learn tricks and push their skiing to the limit.

The camps are also home to the athletes of the British Freestyle Ski Team and will be working as a training base for FIS World Cup and Sochi 2014 Olympic training.

Billabong Ante Up, presented by Von Zipper went down at the top of Whistler Mountain today, with Eric Willett from USA taking home the first place prize of $20,000.  The day started off slow with some cloudy skies and even some snow from mother nature to remind us all that even if it’s July 1st, she can still make an appearance.  In the end though, the weather warmed and the riders went about their business by destroying the 90 foot big air jump.
