Coronet Peak, New Zealand, August 30, 2009 - The slopes are set to rock at Coronet Peak

The slopes are set to rock at Coronet Peak this week when one of New Zealand’s favourite live music acts provides a sound track for Night Skiing at the ski area.

Kicking off at 7pm on Friday September 4, dDub will share their uplifting roots music with the mountain crowd on Coronet Peak’s decks.

Catedral, Argentina, August 30, 2009 - SKier and boarders visiting South America's largest ski area

Skiers and boarders visiting South America’s largest ski area this winter, Catedral near Bartiloche in Argentina, have enjoyed a number of improvements for winter 2009, particularly hands-free lift ticketing and online booking.

On the slopes, the resort’s terrain park has had an overhaul with new jumps, big air and numerous obstacles installed.

Breckenridge, USA, August 30, 2009 - This season will be the 150th anniversary

This season will be the 150th anniversary of the founding of the town of Breckenridge, Colorado, and will also mark 25 years of snowboarding at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

The resort was one of the first to embrace snowboarding, and to host one of the initial major snowboard competitions in the industry, The World Snowboarding Championships, or “The World’s,” in 1986.

After the wild weather of previous days, conditions mellowed at Cardrona, but tricks remained intense for the freeski halfpipe at 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games.

American skier Taylor Seaton took gold in the men’s competition with a score of 84.20 out of 100.

Germany made its mark in the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games adaptive giant slalom at Coronet Peak today, claiming three gold medals and a silver in the high calibre international race, while New Zealand’s Adam Hall won bronze.
 
The race attracted 37 athletes from Germany, USA, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Japan, Serbia, Switzerland, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia.

Women's Giant Slalom at 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games (30-Aug-09)

Queenstown, New Zealand, August 28, 2009 - A class international trio of World Cup skiers

A class international trio of World Cup skiers, headed by Canada’s Marie Michelle Gagnon, took out the top three placings in the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games women’s giant slalom at Coronet Peak today.

Sixty six athletes competed representing Great Britain, Japan, Canada, Czech Republic, Poland, Australia, Sweden, France, Norway, Estonia, Korea, Finland, USA and New Zealand.
