As the calendar flips over, it’s now official that November 2009 will go down in history as the snowiest month on record at Whistler Blackcomb, dating back to when the collection of weather data began 30 years ago.
November 2009 has seen a total accumulation of 560cm (220 inches) of snowfall, nearly four times that of November’s average snowfall of 148cm (58 inches).

This just in, Fernie Alpine Resort announces early opening for a special PREVIEW WEEKEND this Saturday Nov 28th & Sunday Nov 29th! With successive storms over the past few weeks and the magical powers of the legendary Griz, snow conditions at Fernie Alpine Resort lend to the earliest resort opening in British Columbia's Kootenay Region of the Canadian Rockies, BC's Powder Highway, and one of the earliest in the ski resort's history.

Ski journalist Chris Schrahe reports that Mongolia will open its first proper ski resort next Wednesday, November 25th.
Sky Resort has nine ski runs served by two chairlifts (one of which is just for beginners) and four surface lifts. The lifts and runs are located between 1379 and 1570m, giving a 191m vertical.

Whistler Blackcomb has officially surpassed the previous record of snow in the month of November with 418cm (165 inches) of snow falling as of Thursday, November 19. The previous record, set in 2006, was 416cm (164 inches).

Mt. Rose - Ski Tahoe will be holding a Saturday in the Park Rail Jam on Nov. 21stSaturday in the Park Rail Jam is FREE (but you must have a Mt. Rose season pass or lift ticket to enter) and open to all ages and abilities. Participants will be judged on their tricks in a jam-style format for an hour.
