Norway Dominates Mt Hutt Super Combined! (12-Sep-10)

Mt Hutt, New Zealand, September 12, 2010 -  Norwegians Espen Lysdahl and Lotte

Norwegians Espen Lysdahl and Lotte Smiseth Sejersted stood atop the podium today in the final Super-Combined race of the Australia-New Zealand Cup at Mt. Hutt.

Lysdahl (1:43.04) was joined by teammate Kristian Haug (1:43.83) and the USA’s Wiley Maple (1:44.15) on the podium. Queenstown’s Tim Cafe was the top New Zealander in seventh in 1:45.42.

Sugarloaf mountain in Maine, USA, has announced a three year expansion plan that will dramatically increase the amount of terrain it offers and make it the largest since ski area on the Eastern side of the country, eclipsing long-term ‘biggest-in-the-East’ resort, Killington.

Work on the expansion has already began with trees being cleared on 270 acres in the Burnt Mountain

Junior National Championships Decided In SG And Slalom (01-Sep-10)

New Zealand, September 1, 2010 - Taylor Rapley and

Taylor Rapley and Adam Barwood took top honours in the female and male Junior 2 category in both Giant Slalom and Slalom at Coronet Peak.

The fastest New Zealanders in the junior categories were named 2010 Junior Champions.

Some of New Zealand’s top adaptive snow sports athletes took to the slopes of Coronet Peak for the Disabled Alpine National Giant Slalom and Slalom Championships this week.

Quentin Smith took out the National Title in the Giant Slalom with two speedy runs on the slope at Coronet Peak on Tuesday 31 August, competing in a mono ski.
