Scotland’s CairnGorm Mountain above Aviemore opened for snow sports at the weekend – only a few months since it closed at the end of its record-breaking eight month long 2009-10 season.

Skiing was limited, suitable for intermediate and expert skiers only with skiing uplift from the train only, with mid station stops. A route was prepared as much as early snow conditions allowed down the Traverse, 105 and back to the train mid station stop.
