Kokanee Crankworx has announced the athlete line-up for the 2008 festival. Each year the nine day festival draws top athletes from around the globe to compete in their respective freeride mountain bike disciplines.

With athlete registration well underway and most of the biggest names in the sport confirmed for the festival, spectator satisfaction is guaranteed. The Slopestyle has traditionally been the biggest draw at Kokanee Crankworx.


Lost Boys Lungbuster Uphill Mountain Bike Race (17-Jul-08)

Calgary, AB – July 17, 2008– Not for the faint of heart nor the short of breath

Not for the faint of heart nor the short of breath, Fernie Alpine Resort will introduce its newest challenge race on Saturday, July 26th, the “Lost Boys Lungbuster Uphill Mountain Bike Hill Climb”.

The race will start in the base area, at an elevation of 1,068 metres (3,500feet). Riders will make their way up the Timber side of the mountain, finishing the race at Lost Boys Café, located at an elevation of 1,726 metres (5,662 feet).

The first of four competitions in the Cadbury Moro Slopestyle Series attracted a large crowd of spectators at The Remarkables yesterday (Wednesday, 16 July).

Around 50 freestylers on snowboards or skis enjoyed blue sky and great snow conditions as they threw down tricks in the Up & Go Terrain Park.

Delta Air Lines has discovered the tourism treasures of the Kootenay Rockies Region of British Columbia and will begin direct jet service to Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC) on December 17, 2008 from Salt Lake City (SLC).

The new service will utilize Canadair RJ 200 regional jets carrying 50 passengers at a cruising speed of 530 miles per hour, with a flying time of just one hour fifty-eight minutes between Salt Lake City and Cranbrook, BC.
