Season extension and half price passes

New Zealand’s top ski areas are going out with a bang.

NZSki is celebrating the final weeks of snowsports with news that Mt Hutt will extend its season until Sunday October 14.

To sweeten the deal further, Mt Hutt is offering half price mid-week passes (Monday to Friday) for the remainder of the season.

Mt Hutt still has a two-metre-plus snow base and received another 4cm top up last night.

An overnight snowfall, cold temperatures and blue skies made for a “fantastic” season opening at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak ski area today (June 9).

Around 200-odd hardy skiers and boarders lined up for the official start of the season at the ski area’s Coronet Express Quad, with the first having arrived at 4.30am in a snowstorm.
