Two resorts in British Columbia, Canada plan to open next weekend for the country’s
national ‘Canada Day’ weekend from the day itself July1st.
Whistler’s Blackcomb glacier will be open for summer snowsports on the day as usual, but more unusually Mount Washington Alpine Resort on Vancouver island has announced it will open for snowsports for the July 1st weekend for the first time in the resort’s history.

A new attraction awaits skiers and boarders on the slopes at Scheffau in the Austrian SkiWelt next winter.
The resort’s new ‘Ski movie’ slope will give lift pass holders the chance to be automatically filmed as they descend the slope.
The system works when holders of one of the electronic ski passes valid at the resort (a Ski Welt, Kitzbuhel Alps or Tirol Snowcard ticket) passes through an electronic hands free gate.

Canterbury’s Mt Hutt ski area will become the first ski area to open in

opened to “non-pro” athletes.
“This event was founded on feeding the passion
