Sugar Bowl, a 35 acre area to the West of Mountain High’s West Resort, was inadvertently opened last year to skiers and snowboarders at Mountain High Resort.  This region is not included Mountain High’s permitted terrain and was done so without the approval of the Angeles National Forest.  Sugar Bowl will not be open for skiing and snowboarding this coming season and will be signed accordingly.

World Heli-Challenge Announces 2010 Competitors. (20-Jul-10)

Lake Wanaka, New Zealand, July 20, 2010 - In less than two weeks

In less than two weeks, many of the world’s top skiers and snowboarders will converge on Wanaka, New Zealand to participate in the return of the legendary World Heli Challenge. 

Athletes from eight countries will be represented including Travis Rice, arguably one if not the rider leading the charge as snowboarding’s progression continues to skyrocket.

World's Best Skiers Are Coming To Mt Hutt (19-Jul-10)

Mt Hutt is gearing up for an adrenalin-filled month as international athletes begin to arrive for the 2010 competition season.

Some of the world’s best skiers are booked to train at the Red Bull International Race Training Arena in preparation for the alpine racing season which begins with FIS (International Ski Federation) races in New Zealand, then moves to the Northern Hemisphere for the World Cup Circuit.

Snow Park NZ officially announced their highly anticipated new 22ft Olympic sized halfpipe is now open today.

Today also marks the first 22ft halfpipe to open in the Southern Hemisphere this year. Snow Park NZ team riders were given the first ride of the pipe and all agreed it was well worth the wait.

Perisher, Australia, July 15, 2010 - The predicted blizzard arrived

The predicted blizzard arrived with heavy snowfalls across the entire resort, starting early yesterday morning and continuing through to the wee hours of today, with 25cm received overnight alone! It's cleared up today and the resort is looking good!

Our mountain crews have been busy preparing new lifts and runs for opening, including Pretty Valley at Perisher and Kaaten Triple Chair at Smiggins.

Lesotho’s only ski area, Afriski, is enjoying a good winter so far and has unveiled big plans for the   years ahead.

The ski centre in the land-locked but mountainous Southern African kingdom can now accommodate 250 overnight guests and also attracts day skiers  from surrounding towns, such as Clarens, about 110km away.  It receives around 12,000 skiers a season, visiting from all over the region, but the majority from Johan
