Incentives to car pool, disincentives to drive alone and hitching posts are all part of the Coronet Peak Vehicle Reduction Plan to be introduced this winter.
The plan is designed to help reduce demand for car parking on the mountain while also reducing fuel consumption.

It certainly feels like winter has arrived early after the current cold snap that delivered 10-15cm of snow across the resort on Sunday and Monday. With temperatures remaining well below zero, Perisher Blue employees and visitors to the resort have been greeted with magical scenes on their way to work as snow continues to blanket the mountains.

For the third time this year, Perisher Blue has received an early white winter coat after 10-15cm of fresh snow fell in the resort from about 11am yesterday and continuing throughout the night.
Temperatures reached a low of –3.5?C at 7.45am this morning and the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting snow showers to continue throughout the day.
