Grouse Mountain will be entirely smoke-free on Saturday May 31 for World No Tobacco Day. This day marks the start of a campaign to become the first smoke-free mountain resort in BC. With the support of the Canadian Cancer Society, B.C. and Yukon Division, staff and guests will trade in cigarettes for twizzlers and wear 'kiss me I don't smoke' buttons to celebrate their tobacco-free environment.

MT HUTT, NZ, MAY 22, 2008 - Mt Hutt’s snowmaking arsenal fired up last night
Mt Hutt’s snowmaking arsenal fired up last night, while natural snowfall blanketed the ski area with 15cm of new snow.
Twenty three new guns were added this year to Mt Hutt’s fleet of guns, making snowmaking more efficient and effective when the temperatures are right.
THREDBO, NSW, MAY 22, 2008 - Another busy summer on the slopes of Thredbo
Another busy summer on the slopes of Thredbo, as the mountain team completed stage three of Thredbo’s snowmaking upgrade. Around $1.5 million was invested, adding snowmaking to the World Cup trail, that runs parallel to the mighty Supertrail. Thanks to this work, snowriders will also see improved coverage on the run-out of Little Beauty and True Blue.
Thredbo are now in the final stage of the three-year snowmaking project that has seen close to $6 million invested.

A good 10cm blanketed the mountain overnight, and the snow continues to fall today. Ski Area Manager Hamish McCrostie said snowmaking is scheduled to start next week following testing of the new system.
