Kokanee Crankworx organizers are looking for volunteers to play an important role at mountain biking's biggest annual festival August 9-17, 2008. Kokanee Crankworx has 300 volunteer spots to cover 900 shifts during the nine days of the event.
Kokanee Crankworx has been receiving applications from volunteers from all over the world including Brazil, Panama, and New Zealand as well as all across Canada.

Five cable reels for Whistler Blackcomb’s PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola are in the homestretch of a 18,000 kilometre/11,000 mile journey as they arrive by train in Whistler in the evening of Tuesday, June 17. After traveling over 11 weeks via truck, barge, boat and rail; the final leg of the journey consists of a literal push from the Whistler valley to the Blackcomb PEAK 2 PEAK lift station located at 1860 metres/6,102 feet.

Casey Groves, a sixteen year old from Kelowna, BC who has spent the last three summers watching Kokanee Crankworx from the sidelines, will get his chance to drop in with the pros this August. After winning the inaugural Boneyard Air Affair in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, Groves has secured one of three remaining spots for the VW Trick Showdown and the Monster Energy Slopestyle taking place at Kokanee Crankworx on August 14 and August 16 respectively.

Whistler BC, June 12, 2008 - The Peak 2 Peak Gondola cable reels touched down on North American soil at the Port of Vancouver USA late on Tuesday, after making their way across the Atlantic and through the Panama Canal on the Star Indiana vessel. On Wednesday, it took all day to load them onto a train en route to Whistler. They are expected to arrive in Whistler on June 16 at 2pm.
The Port of Vancouver USA owns the largest mobile harbour crane in North America.
