Newfoundland and Labrador (NF) is as far from the Rockies as you can get in Canada and has probably the best skiing and snowboarding in the country outside of Alberta and BC. The snowfall's got more than a little to do with it - at over five metres a year, NF seems to get more than its fair share of pow. The drop is also better here than anywhere else this side of the country, even if it still isn't exactly dizzying.
The two biggest resorts are Humber Valley and Marble Mountain, both of which boast the usual mods and cons, as well as a good number of groomed trails and some great park terrain. Best of all, you never need to worry about getting lost, this being the home of those big shaggy dogs and all.
