Perched on the eastern edge of Canada with the Atlantic Ocean for a border, New Brunswick (NB) is more famous for salmon fishing and whale watching than anything else. But further north in the province, especially during the winter months, it's possible to ski or snowboard in the mountains.
Granted, your choice is fairly limited. But for those dedicated to the cause, there are a handful of resorts with enough terrain to reward most skiers and riders, at least a few hours anyway. Crabbe Mountain in central NB has the biggest vertical drop in the area - around 260m. It also offers night skiing and 30-odd kms of cross country. Pooley Mountain, near Sussex is a similar set-up, with tuition and snow making.
