| Snow Industry history | I have been skiing since I a was about two and a half years old. My Dad built a mound of snow in our front yard strapped skis on my feet and shoved me down the mound. Then my Mom would take me up to Grouse Mountain with a family friend, leaving me at Ski Wee for a couple hours, there I got my first actual ski lessons. Afterwards my Mom would pick me up from Ski Wee and take me skiing. All she would say is follow me... so I did. Through out the mid 70"s to the mid 80's my family would go skiing every weekend up at Cypress Mountain. Then on the Christmas holidays we would go up to Whistler for a week with a few other families and ski. 1984 I got my CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance) Level I instructors certification. In 1987 I started teaching skiing at Cypress Mountain and continue to do so now on a part time basis. I now I am a CSIA Level III instructor and a CSCF (Canadian Ski Coaches Federation) Level 1 coach. Besides instruct ing for the Cypress Mountain Snow School I also do instructor training. I specialize in pedagogy, which is teaching to teach. I am also a stunt performer in the motion picture industry in Vancouver. Since I started pursuing stunts in 1992, one of my career goals is to ski for film. In the spring of 2009 I was asked to teach actor Craig Robinson (Pinapple Express, Zach & Miri Make a Porno) how to ski for the film "Hot Tub Time Machine". I almost got to do some skiing for the 1980's flashback ski sequences. For the fall of 2009 I have the oportunity to be ski & stunt double for an actor doing a James Bond like ski chase sequence. I have carved up at the following: Grouse, Cypress, Seymour, Whistler Blackcomb, Silverstar, BigWhite, SunValley |
