We could tell you that Lombardy's a beautiful region of Italy, that the scenery around lake Garda is sublime and the shopping in Milan is second to none. But we're always saying that sort of thing. Wouldn't you just rather know that George Clooney's got a villa here on the shores of lake Como? Thought so ...
Of nearly 50 resorts in the region Bormio is probably the most well-known, but there's pretty much something for everyone here. There's the tiny Val Palot with just 3 kms of runs, the traditional village of Caspoggio, the mammoth San Colombano with 235 kms of terrain and the slick Livigno - which has a lift capacity of nearly 50,000 skiers and riders an hour and a top lift that dumps you out just shy of 3,000 metres.
