Most Memorable moment Skiing or Boarding It was a night that kept me from skiing for eight years. I was up at Cypress Mountain (in West Vancouver home to the 2010 Winter Olympics) where it puked 78 cms (about two feet) within 24 hours, the mountain closed down due to the extreme blizzard conditions but opened that night at 6pm for night skiing. It was a buddy Brownie and I who hit it, both of us for our second time ever on a snowboard. With reckless abandon we ripped up that mountain; any big bails were like landing in a big fluffy pillow. We were enjoying ourselves so much it almost brought us to tears reducing us to a bunch of giddy school girls.

It was from that day forward I didn't put on a pair of skis for eight years- the experience is to this day one of the major reasons I love snowboarding so much.
Motto Think Snow
Snow Industry history My handle’s Doc Pow for a reason – I live for the POW. Everything I have done in my career over the past 12 years has lead me to the position I am in today. SnowSeekers is my company, one of the world’s leading producers of snow-minded content sharing all of the incredible opportunities that await in Western Canada; via TV, internet and mobile means.

In 1999, after two seasons on the sales and marketing team at Cypress Mountain in Vancouver – the ski resort home to 2010 Olympic freestyle skiing and snowboarding events – I skied off to the eastside of the Canadian Rockies and into Edmonton, Alberta. Here, I worked with a snow-minded adventure tour operator welcoming the world to the slopes of Jasper, Fernie, Kicking Horse, Banff and all of the additional powder-packed gems of the Rockies.

For eight years I was a ski journalist for large Canadian daily newspaper before my like-minded business partner and I started our own new media company, SnowSeekers. It's been a labor of love which now includes a team of nine, a 300 page and growing website at snowseekers.ca, the nationally televised SnowSeekers TV series, a line of iPhone apps and special projects that include clients such as The North Face, leading tourism agencies and covering events such as the 2010 Olympic Games.

Our goal at SnowSeekers is simple – to be THE guide to winter in Western Canada by uncovering all the incredible adventures that await in this part of our world.
