Deep down in the south of Italy, the region of Campania is far more famous for its sun kissed Amalfi coast than its free riding. That doesn't mean it doesn't get chilly in the winter. There are mountains after all (including the infamous volcano Vesuvius) and snow falls thick and fast between January and March.

Your choice for skiing or riding down here is pretty much limited to the resort of Altopiano Laceno, which has 16 slopes, four of which are blacks.
