Whistler Blackcomb 100 Per Cent Open! (20-Dec-11)

8,171 Acres, 5,280 vertical and Over 10.5 feet of Snow so far this season

WHISTLER, BC, December 16, 2011 – With more terrain open than anywhere else in the world, Whistler Blackcomb is THE place to slide on snow this holiday season. Over 321cm or 10.5 feet of snow has fallen this season and on top of that, the Whistler Blackcomb snowmaking team has converted 175 million gallons of water into snow.

“Today we opened the Symphony Express Lift on Whistler Mountain as well as the legendary Peak to Creek trail, the longest continuous run in North America. With these two additions, Whistler Blackcomb is officially 100 per cent open, offering 8,171 acres of terrain and a mile of vertical,” says Stuart Rempel (Dave, Doug Mac?), Whistler Blackcomb’s vice president of marketing and sales.

• The Whistler Blackcomb Snow School’s new Max4 lesson program, offering instruction to no more than four guests per instructor, is now running daily.
• The Coca-Cola Tube Park, offering afternoon and evening sliding fun for the whole family, opens tomorrow, Saturday, December 17 through April 22, 2012.
