“Switzerland’s longest New Year’s Eve” from 31 December 2010 to 2nd January 2011 will see Interlaken beneath Wengen, Murren and Grindelwald change into an extraordinary party town.

All guests on 31st December will receive a bottle of champagne in their hotel rooms as well as an exquisite dinner. Then while the rest of the country is recovering, the party in Interlaken will just be about to start on 1st January with a horse drawn carriage tour followed by an open-air concert and a huge firework display on the “Höhematte”, in the town centre.

Then on 2nd January 2011 pure ‘Swissness’ awaits at the traditional “Harder Potschete Parade” when the “Potschen” (masked men) run down the streets and drive out the evil spirits of the region with their impressive masks.
