Spring Into Huge Discounts At Mt Buller From This Weekend! (04-Sep-11)
Mt Buller is celebrating the arrival of spring with discounted skiing and snowboarding from this weekend. Snow lovers will save 30% off the regular price of a single day pass from Saturday and 50% on multi-day lift passes.
A two-day lift pass this weekend is now discounted down to $103 for an adult, $82 for tertiary students and just $56 for a child up to Year 12 – great savings on spring skiing and snowboarding!
Spring is the ideal time to discover skiing and snowboarding with Mt Buller offering a FREE two hour beginner lesson with the “Discover” lift pass, uncrowded slopes and sunny days.
There are currently 10 lifts in operation at Mt Buller and a mainly good cover of spring-like snow giving great skiing and snowboarding on runs open. There is up to 60cms of cover sitting in the snowmaking areas which are holding up well thanks to cold clear nights of sub-zero temperatures, smart grooming and regular boosts of snowmaking to keep the runs in shape.
“Spring is a great time to be in the mountains,” explains Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied. “We have been enjoying beautiful sunny days and thanks to our extensive snowmaking infrastructure there is up to 60cms of good cover on our ski runs. The spring snow cover tends to be softer and forgiving which is ideal for beginners and families wishing to enjoy some time together on the slopes.”
The spring calendar at Mt Buller is colourful and fun with fashion faux pas on the agenda this Saturday when “Eighties Day” is celebrated with gusto. Guests and resort staff will be pulling out their tightest and brightest 80’s inspired fashions and long, thin skis for a fun day on the slopes harking back to one-pieces and flouro.
Next weekend sees snowball battles raging on Bourke Street as Yukigassen gets underway on Sunday 11 September. Teams take to the custom-built Yukigassen arena for fast and furious snowball fights between teams in an elimination knock out event. Fun for all and great to watch this event is a popular highlight in the spring Mt Buller calendar.
