Ski Rossendale To Re-Open By September (01-Jun-11)

Managers at Ski Rossendale, one of the UK’s leading artificial slope...

Managers at Ski Rossendale, one of the UK’s leading artificial slope ski and board centres which closed earlier this year due to financial problems, have told local media that they are “very confident” that the facility will reopen by September.

The local council which was previously funding the facility decided to close it in March, but say they now have two formal tenders from viable operators to re-open it. These follow six previous tenders over the previous two years which councillors rejected.

A report in 2009 said the centre required a £10million investment to bring it up to standard and that the opening of the indoor snow centre, Chill Factore, was damaging its business.
