Ski Big Bear, USA, December 14, 2009 - Ski Big Bear will open this Saturday

Ski Big Bear will open this Saturday, December 19 for the 2009/2010 ski season. Ski Big Bear has been making snow for the last two weeks and will open with a good amount of terrain for all levels on the first day. This is possible due to our increased snowmaking capacity and a veteran crew of snowmakers working in ideal snowmaking weather leading up to opening day. We will also open the brand new double/double chairlift and that along with the second Magic Carpet added last season doubles our uphill capacity. Ski Big Bear now has 6 lifts all new within the last 12 years and by far the largest and most modern snowmaking system in the area.

Starting Saturday, Ski Big Bear will be open from 9am – 4:30pm everyday this week except Tuesday, December 22nd and Christmas Day. Christmas week, from December 26th through January 2nd we will be open every day and night from 9am to 9pm. Skiing will be available until midnight on New Year’s Eve.

Snow tubing is available 10:30am – 3:30pm December 26th through January 2ndrd. and 10:30 – 2:30pm on January 3

Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain is located in Lackawaxen, PA. The summit village and 18 ski trails overlook the upper Delaware River valley. A 25,000 square foot lodge, skier services building and country store provide everything a skier or non-skier needs to enjoy winter. Ski Big Bear is open for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing through mid-March and employs 125+ people during the season. The rental shop houses approximately 1200 sets of ski equipment and 400 snowboards.
