Ski Big Bear At Masthope Mountain Announces Winter Carnival’s Shred For Cancer A Fundraiser To benefit The Livestrong Foundation (24-Jan-11)

Lackawaxen, PA, January 21, 2011. Visit Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain for a day of
outdoor fun and entertainment at Winter Carnival on January 30 from 9:00 am – 4:30pm.
Events throughout the day will benefit the Livestrong Foundation through Jeremy Taninies’s
Wallenpaupack Area High School Senior Project. Hit the snow for ski/snowboard races, big
air contest, rail jam, an all day scavenger hunt, lunch tray races and free Ski Patrol toboggan rides. Then head to the rental shop to register to win a free wax and sharpen. Get your picture with “The Bear” and enjoy Music at the top and bottom of the Mountain and in the Terrain Park. There will also be fun activities for non-skiers in the Lodge.

“I would love to make this fundraiser be a huge success not just for my project, but to help the commonwealth. Fun things are planned for the day. I would love to see you all out at Ski Big Bear,” said Jeremy Taninies.

Ski & Snowboard Races/Rail Jam/Big Air
Each person participating in the Ski & Snowboard Races or Rail Jam MUST have a signed
waiver. If under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian must sign. Helmets are required.

Lunch Tray Races
To participate in the Lunch Tray Races, no waiver or registration required, however, a lift ticket is needed. Meet on the hill and we will supply the trays.

Scavenger Hunt on the Mountain
Participate in this fun scavenger hunt on skis! Get out on the slopes and find those lollipops with a colored end. Then stop in the Gift Shop to claim your prize.

Toboggan Rides & Blood Pressure Checks
Head to the top of the mountain for Toboggan Rides sponsored by the Ski Patrol or have your Blood Pressure checked in the Lodge.

Season Passes are on sale now and there are many days left in the ski season. Additional
information is available at or by calling 570-685-1400.

Regular Ski Hours: Sunday & Monday (9am – 4:30pm), Tuesday (Closed except 2/22),
Wednesday & Thursday (Noon – 9pm), Friday & Saturday (9am – 9pm).
