School Holiday Bonus At The Remarkables (22-Sep-08)

The Remarkables, NZ, September 22, 2008 - Children aged 10 and under will receive free day lift tickets

Children aged 10 and under will receive free day lift tickets at The Remarkables for the school holidays making the ski area even more attractive for families on a spring skiing holiday.

The offer comes into effect from Saturday 27 September and will run until October 12 which is the end of the school holidays and scheduled to be the last day of skiing and riding at The Remarkables.

The Remarkables Manager Ross Lawrence says the ski area has a strong family focus and this will be emphasized throughout the holidays.

“The Remarkables in spring time is an awesome place for the kids to learn to ski or ride.  There are three surface conveyor lifts in a learner’s area that is located right in front of the sundeck. It’s a sunny and beautiful alpine environment with excellent facilities for all levels of skier and rider.”

“Kids love the chairlift-accessed green runs and the FruJu Beginner Park with its easy jumps, rails and boxes that offer great progression into the bigger parks,” he said. “Then we’ve got The Stash and the Up & Go Terrain Park offering plenty of thrills for the more experienced freestylers in the family.”

The Remarkables Tubing Park offers a great option for non skiers, skiers or boarders with tired legs, kids, or those just wanting to have a bit of fun in the snow with their family and friends.

“Everyone can have a go and it’s a fantastic way for youngsters to get familiar and confident in the snow while having lots of laughs along the way,” he said.

He said the ski area had lots of activities and programmes lined up throughout the school holidays.

“Our Remarks Camp holiday development programme is a fantastic way for the young ones to progress through the levels while having lots of fun with their peers in the snow – this is what it’s all about at The Remarks.”

“And to kick it all off, we’ve got our annual Spring Fling on Sunday 28 September. This is always a fun filled day for the whole family with lots of activities including live entertainment on the deck.”

And another bonus, The Freemarkables transport deal has been extended to last the rest of the season. Day pass purchasers can enjoy free transport to the ski area on The Remarkables Express, the ski area’s new shuttle service, from the Station building in downtown Queenstown direct to the slopes.
