Saas Fee Readies For the Summer Ride (26-Jun-11)

This summer many of Europe's top freeskiers...

This summer many of Europe's top freeskiers will be back to compete in the Allalin Snow Park on the Saas-Fee glacier in Switzerland at the Saas-Fee Ride 11 on 23rd July 2011 – two weeks after the resort re-opens for the start of its 10 month long season through to May 2012!

Since 2003 the Saas-Fee Ride summer freeski events have been seen across the globe due to the international broadcast of the 26 minute TV programmes that have surprised viewers of just how good summer glacier skiing can be.

“On the day you can expect to see International and National team riders, aspiring pro's and many people from the freestyle skiing community getting involved to make it a day to remember.” said Warren Smith, Director - Ride Freesport.

“Saas-Fee is the perfect location for the comp due to the north facing glacier which keeps the snow in great condition and the safety standards high.”

This year's main discipline is Big Air but there will also be a Rail Jam session for athletes to show their style for the TV crews.

The event has clocked up over 3000 hours of television airtime and has earned many athletes at the comp some much deserved publicity.
