Could a price freeze on Five and Ten Day Edge Cards for the 2009.2010 winter season be responsible for the decidedly wintery weather Whistler Blackcomb has experienced this spring? 

Probably not, but it is this season’s best deal. Canadians and skiers and riders from Washington State can take advantage of last year’s spring rate plus get one free day valid until December 25, 2009; one free summer sightseeing pass to experience the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola’s aerial tour this summer; and the option to purchase an Unlimited Spring 2009 Pass for only $79.

The Unlimited Spring Pass is an amazing value add-on for purchasers of the 2009.2010 Edge Card. The season is far from over as mountain operations continue until May 18, and then on to June 14 as the snowpack allows. With the base currently sitting at 228 centimetres/89 inches Whistler Blackcomb is entering the spring season strong. Whistler Mountain will close on April 26, Blackcomb Mountain will remain open for spring skiing and riding until May 18 and Whistler will reopen for spring riding May 19 to June 14, snowpack permitting.

With the brand new Highway 99 open throughout next winter the frequency of private buses from Vancouver to Whistler expected to increase for day visitors during the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, next season is going to be unforgettable. Over 90 per cent of Whistler Blackcomb’s terrain will be available for skiers and riders during the Games and Whistler Blackcomb’s season will bookend the Games from November 2009 to June 2010. Edge Card holders can be sure the season will be long and snow-filled so they can get their Whistler fix during the 2009.2010 winter season.
