Perisher's Spring Carnival Kicks-off Tomorrow (05-Sep-10)

Perisher, Australia, September 5, 2010 - On the back of the best

On the back of the best August snowfalls in 25 years comes another fun-filled  “Coca-Cola Spring Carnival” this September at Perisher. It doesn’t get any better than this with some of the best spring skiing and snowboarding in years combined with a variety of festive entertainment and activities across the resort at Perisher.

“The Spring Carnival is a load of fun for everyone and there’s really no better way to compliment a day of spring skiing or boarding than a leisurely afternoon, soaking up the vibes, with live entertainment and fun family activities on Front Valley” said Neil Thew.

A variety of live music styles will be emanating from the deck outside the Perisher Centre including R&B, Funk, Soul, Acoustic and Pop featuring a different popular act each day. Performances are by favourites such as Souls Predators, Delta Riggs, French Butler Called Smith and the Shake to name a few. Other venues around the resort will have plenty of festive things on offer including live music and a variety of après activities and entertainment for all to enjoy. “There’s something for just about everyone” continued Mr Thew.

And not forgetting the kids… Club Penguin Tube Town is open daily for a slide from 10:00am till 4:00pm.  Front Valley will be sporting a jumping castle along with frequent visits from entertainers such as the comical clown Nick Fury, plus the resort’s own Professor Nugget and friends. On Tuesday nights there is free* skiing and boarding for kids and spectacular fireworks at Smiggin Holes and Front Valley and each Wednesday and Thursday nights respectively.

Night Skiing continues in Spring with the Village 8 operating on Perisher’s Front Valley each Tuesday from 6.00pm to 9.00pm (*kids ride free with valid day pass) and each Wednesday Zoe’s Rope Tow at Smiggin Holes will be operating for the little ones from 6.00pm right up until the fireworks at 8.00pm.

Guided Evening Snowshoe Walks will be conducted on the 14th and 21st of September, where adventurers can discover Australia’s unique wilderness and wildlife at night.  Visitors are encouraged to book early as space is limited on this unique experience through Perisher’s Guest Services team on 1300 655 822.

Ski or Board from just $79 a day… Take advantage of the great snow with loads of deals still on offer for Perisher visitors. All the Spring Carnival Deals can be found by visiting http://www.perisher.com.au/winter/holiday_planner/specials.php.
