Perisher News July 2010 (07-Jul-10)
Perisher, Australia, July 7, 2010 - Incredible snow making effort this season
Perisher's recent three-year $19 million investment in automated snowmaking has been a bonus for skiers and boarders this winter.
Given the region has received just 34cm of natural snow to date,
without snowmaking, there would be limited riding options.
Since the resort kicked off its snowmaking operations on 11 May, we've
produced close to 550,000 cubic metres of snow, with the biggest 24
hours yielding an incredible 45,445 m3.
Last winter Perisher produced 620,000 cubic metres of snow and it looks
as though Perisher is well on the way to bettering that record in 2010.
