Perisher Blue Launch Your Band Competition Now Open! (18-Mar-08)

Following the fabulous success of the 2007 campaign, Perisher Blue has again embarked on its ‘Launch Your Band’ competition.

“Last year when we discussed implementing Launch Your Band, we would have been happy with 20 entries.” Said, Neil Thew, Manager PR & Business Development, Perisher Blue. “We ended up getting 293 entries which was a massive response, some really fine music was submitted.”

The Launch Your Band competition is designed to uncover unsigned bands, electronic groups, DJs, solo acts and anyone else looking to get their music out there, for the chance to have their song become the official soundtrack of Perisher Blue’s 2008 Freeride radio and television commercials.

Last year’s winner Jordan Millar and the Question with their song “Ride it All the Way” gained national exposure across Perisher Blue’s various media channels.

Launch Your Band this year will run in conjunction with NOVA FM, Channel V, Burton Snowboards, Nikon, Lonsdale London and Out Of The Square Media and will see a host of great prizes up for grabs.

The winning band not only gets their own ticket to fame and an invitation to perform LIVE at Perisher Blue, but also a snow holiday at Perisher Blue valued at $1000 per person, $2,800 in Burton products, a Nikon Coolpix camera, $2000 worth of Lonsdale London clothing PLUS their song featured on the Fusion Parks and Pipe on-line jukebox on Perisher Blue’s website and Perisher Blue’s First Tracks compilation CD!

There are also fantastic prizes for 2nd and 3rd places, plus the top twenty entries will be featured on the Fusion Parks and Pipe jukebox and Perisher Blue’s First Tracks CD. The national competition is open from 21 March until 15 April 2008 and entries will be judged on originality, composition and relevance to Perisher Blue’s funky freeride scene.

Those with little or no musical talent also have the opportunity to win an exciting trip to Perisher Blue in the ‘Your Pick’ category. Entrants simply need to state in 25 words or less which song is their winning pick and why it would best suit Perisher Blue’s 2008 Freeride commercials.
