PASSIONATE MT BULLER FAMILIES TO OPEN NEW CHAIRLIFT! (29-May-12)

Mt Buller today invited passionate skiing families at the mountain to open the new Bonza Chairlift on the Opening Weekend of the snow season next weekend.

The Bonza chairlift is the only new chairlift to be built anywhere in Australia or New Zealand and Mt Buller is commemorating the launch by inviting families to gather three generations to ride the chair for the first time.

Mt Buller has always been a family mountain and Bonza is the family chair, serving some of the most user-friendly and fun terrain at Mt Buller.  Mt Buller decided to have the lift opened by the passionate skiers and snowboarders of Mt Buller, including the families who’ve been coming here for generations to ski and share time together, as well as families who’ve only started coming more recently but love to ski together with their kids and grandkids.

The opening of this lift is a celebration of the fun we have in the snow with friends and family explained Laurie Blampied, General Manager of Buller Ski Lifts, “Bonza will be opened by people who know the mountain and are excited about all their favourite Northside runs re-opening and getting back onto the slopes together this winter.”

Mt Buller is committed to continually improving and enhancing Victoria’s largest lifting network and has installed additional snowmaking, new carpet lifts and revitalised the Howqua Chairlift with all new chairs in readiness for the opening of the season on 9 June.

Families are invited to bring three generations to the opening and be the first to ride the new chairlift.

Participating familles will share a chair on the new lift, have their family name recorded on a commemorative plaque, receive a commemorative photo of the day and become part of the mountain’s history.
