It certainly feels like winter has arrived early after the current cold snap that delivered 10-15cm of snow across the resort on Sunday and Monday. With temperatures remaining well below zero, Perisher Blue employees and visitors to the resort have been greeted with magical scenes on their way to work as snow continues to blanket the mountains. Perisher Blue bringing out the big guns
The snowmaking team is now in the final stages of completing the $9.75M development. All the 34 new automated snow guns and all the pipelines have been installed, while the pump station has almost been fitted out. The snow guns are currently being commissioned ready to be fired up to pump out snow by mid-May. Listen out for the announcement of the start of snowmaking - it won't be long!

'Live in the Moment'! Launch Your Band Winner
Sydney-based band 'Burn the Drama' has taken out this year's Perisher Blue Launch Your Band competition with its indie-rock inspired song 'Live in the Moment'.  The song will now become the official soundtrack to Perisher Blue's freeride television commercial, on air from 18 May 2008. The four-piece band's distinct sound is described as "indie, yet in-your-face and at time emotive but always driven with energy" that they say is "born out of their turbulent past". (MORE)

Celebration of Winter Opening Weekend
Perisher Blue will be abuzz with activity on opening weekend (7-9 June 2008) with an array of live entertainment including Three Quarters Hazel and Josh Rawiri as well as fun for the kids including jumping castle, carnival rides and drum and circus workshops - not to mention the chance of skiing and boarding!
