October Skiing At Charlotte Pass Ski Resort (18-Oct-09)
Charlotte Pass, Australia, October 19, 2009 - Some forgot to tell Mother Nature
Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that winter is over! Charlotte Pass Ski Resort,
Australia’s highest ski resort has received more than 1 metre of snow since the start
of October.
With so much snow and blue skies this morning, Charlotte Pass Ski Resort operated
the Basin Poma for a few hours for its staff to enjoy the October snow.
“This is the first time in years that skiing has been possible at Charlotte Pass at this
time of year” says Michelle Lovius, Hotel Manager at Charlotte Pass Ski Resort.
Jamie Fancett, Resort Operations Manager said “We decided to take the
opportunity to thank some of our staff for their hard work with a few hours of skiing
and boarding. This certainly brings new meaning to Spring Skiing!”
The snow on the ground only adds to the excitement at Charlotte Pass Ski Resort,
with the resort about to embark on a number of new developments for season
2010.
Summer works include the construction of a viewing platform at the top of the
Kosciuszko Triple Chair, re-painting of the historic Kosciuszko Chalet Hotel,
development of a new reception area* as well as the return of the Bogong Bar &
Bistro*.
