Nakiska Ski Resort Opens National Training Centre On Nov 7th (05-Nov-09)

Nakiska, Canada, November 5, 2009 - Nakiska Ski Resort

Nakiska Ski Resort, Alpine Canada's National Training Centre, will be open to pre-booked Ski Racing Teams on Nov 7th.  The early opening will help training athletes achieve that "Olympic edge", a high priority when hosting Team Canada!  Being less than 100 days out from the Olympic Games, every practice run counts for both Albertan and Canadan athletes training for 2010. "In this Olympic Year, the Nakiska Ski Resort Team feels it is vital to provide athletes the 'Canada 1st' Advantage" says Matt Mosteller, VP of Sales & Marketing.  "Every extra turn will make a difference and we want to do all we can to support the Canadian athletes in their pursuit of excellence at Canada's Olympics" added Mosteller.

Nakiska Ski Resort aims to be open for public skiing and riding on weekends starting November 14th (Open 7 days/wk starting Dec 5).  This is the earliest opening in history for Nakiska Ski Resort, aligning with the few mountain ski resorts in Canada who have such early season openings.  With this, Nakiska Ski Resort plans to have, what could be, the most vertical and longest fall-line ski runs open at this time of year. On November 14th, skier and rider enthusiasts will be able to access the top of the new, high-speed Gold Chair Express all the way down to the base - a whopping 779m (2555ft) of vertical!  Enjoy quick and easy access to the slopes at Calgary's Closest Mountain, Nakiska Ski Resort - the only resort in Alberta to offer high-speed chairs for all main access lifts.  Visit the Nakiska Ski Resort booth at the Calgary Ski Show this weekend for show special discounts on skiing and riding at Nakiska Ski Resort and don't forget to check out the new 2010 Card!
