Mt Buller Set To Roll For Opening Weekend (02-Jun-09)

Mt Buller, Australia, June 2, 2009 -

After a history-making two day opening at the start of May, Mt Buller will officially
open for the 2009 snow season on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend with
celebrations that are not to be missed. The festivities will kick off on Saturday June
6th and continue throughout the weekend, providing visitors with plenty to do both
on and off the slopes.

On Saturday afternoon, the Village Square will come alive with the Code One Police
band, official opening ceremony, Pyroptix fire and percussion show, and culminate in
the amazing Pepsi Fireworks Spectacular. There will be plenty of action to keep all
ages entertained throughout the weekend including face painting, free hot chocolate
and the Barry the Pygmy-possum live show for the kids, whilst adults can enjoy free
gluhwein, enjoy the live entertainment and help raise money for Australia’s winter
Olympians at the annual Black Cockatoo Dinner. An expo held by Buller Ski Lifts will
showcase the wide range of operations needed to run the Resort, including
snowmaking, snow grooming, ski patrol and much more.

Events Coordinator for the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management
Board (ARMB), Katie Bowker, said the weekend is one to look forward to. “Opening
weekend is a fantastic event as there is such an amazing atmosphere in the Village.
There’s a lot to keep the little ones busy and adults can relax and enjoy the festivities.

“Guests can revel in the first snow falls or enjoy some of the many other activities
available throughout the resort. Visitors can catch a movie at the cinema, be
pampered at the Breathtaker on High spa retreat, visit the National Alpine Museum or relax at one of the many bars and restaurants on the mountain. It’s the ideal time to visit Mt Buller and experience what the resort has to offer.”

Phil Nunn, ARMB CEO, said “opening weekend is a great time to visit Mt Buller, both
for skiers and snowboarders wanting to get their first glimpse of snow for the season, and for people looking for a relaxing break. Buller is the most accessible alpine resort in Australia, located an easy three hour drive from Melbourne. With plenty to do both on and off the snow, it is the perfect place to escape to and have some winter fun.”
