Montgenèvre plans to become the only resort in the Southern Alps....

Montgenèvre plans to become the only resort in the Southern Alps and one of only 30 in Europe to offer lift accessed skiing over 3,000m.

An entire 3000m ski area has been created around Mount-Chaberton on the French/Italian border to offer skiing for all levels and a long new blue run from 3000m downwards.

Skiers will be able to enjoy 360° panoramic views from Mont Ventoux to Mont-Blanc, from the
Rhône to the river Pô from the top of the new area.

Opening the new area will involve an investment of up to 26 million Euros, one of the biggest
projects in the Alps, and it is due to be officially opened in 2012/13.
