A new Michelin culinary star has been awarded to the famous French resort of Val d’Isère.
A new Michelin culinary star has been awarded to the famous French resort of Val d’Isère. This time it is local Antony Tempesta who has been recognised by the Michelin restaurant guide for his gastronomic excellence at his family restaurant, La Becca.
Learning from the best, Antony began his career with the legends that are Michel Husser, Régis Marcon, Marc Veyrat and Gilles Goujou. Despite his natural talent on the snow, at 30 years old Antony chose to put his skis aside to concentrate on his true love of cooking. He did however
continue to maintain his competitive spirit, constantly striving for perfection, “that’s my sporting side. We compete to be the best. It’s the same in the kitchen, we look for perfection.”
The young chef now holds an authentic culinary identity, working only with local products to bring out the natural flavours of the region. He took over La Becca restaurant six years ago, transforming the local family restaurant into an unmissable stopping point for lunching skiers and evening gourmet-lovers alike. La Becca is located right at the heart of nature in the charming Laisinant hamlet at the gateway to the seasonal Vanoise National Park.
La Becca is now officially one of the finest restaurants in Savoy and is looking forward to a complete refurbishment of the restaurant interior and terrace to celebrate such a prestigious award. Unlike most Michelin-starred restaurants, Chef Antony Temepesta ensures his loyal diners that the menu ethos will not change, but will continue to improve and progress, but without a change in the price!
