It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Ski Season - Kimberley Alpine Resort Set To Open This Saturday (11-Dec-08)

Calgary, AB – December 11, 2008– Kimberley Alpine Resort will kick off the 2008/09 ski season

Kimberley Alpine Resort will kick off the 2008/09 ski season this Saturday, with a special preview weekend.

With 21cm of new snow in the past 7 days, and snowmaking in full force, the resort is ready to go for the season. Kimberley Alpine Resort will be open on December 13 and 14, then re-open on December 19th for operations seven days a week.

The North Star Express Quad and Owlette Magic Carpet will be open, with limited terrain access. Adult lift prices will be $39, with reduced rates available for youth, seniors and children. Slopeside Coffee and Deli will be open, as well as Kelsey’s, Sports Alpine Retail, the Rental Shop and TELUS Winter Sports School.

A number of events and activities will keep the resort busy over the upcoming weeks, including:

The Kimberley area will welcome the inaugural Delta Airlines flights from Salt Lake City, starting on December 17th. Inbound passengers may present their original boarding pass and purchase a one day lift ticket for just $1! This special inaugural package is available between December 19-23, and valid for inbound passengers on the first week of flights.

4th Annual Kimberley Alpine Resort Community Appreciation Day – Saturday, December 20th 

Kimberley Alpine Resort will once again say ‘Thank You’ to local communities by offering a FREE day of skiing and riding to the residents of Kimberley, Cranbrook, Marysville and Wasa, as part of the annual Community Appreciation Day.

The Resort will also be hosting a charity BBQ that day from 11:00am to 2:30pm. Local guests can treat themselves to a $2.00 BBQ courtesy of Kimberley Alpine Resort, New Classic Foods, Maple Leaf Foods, Weston Bakeries and Heinz Canada.  All proceeds will go to support the Kimberley North Star Racers.

To secure a local’s complimentary lift pass on December 20th, please be prepared to present to Guest Services a driver’s license or pay stub and valid identification.
