It Might Be A Little Mountain But It Has The Most Snow (13-Jun-11)

Mt Baw Baw might not be the biggest mountain but it has the most snow in Australia
right now! There is an average depth of 35cm around the village with more on the
ground at the summit. The crew is working around the clock getting set for the influx of
people expected to come through the gates tomorrow. Our team of seasonal staff from
across the globe have arrived on the mountain are learning the ropes quickly so they are
ready to get on the job tomorrow. Plenty of activities and entertainment are planned
for the weekend however we expect that the biggest draw card is the white blanket
which covers the Resort.

All lifts have been serviced and are ready for motion at 9am tomorrow morning. Mt
Baw Baw Alpine Resort CEO Leona Turra is thrilled ‘this is the best start to the season
we have had for 17 years, it is just so exciting to be able to get our visitors out on to the
slopes for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. The atmosphere around the village is
fantastic, everyone knows how fortunate we are to have this much snow so early in the
season.’

The Terrain Park Crew has been hard at it setting up features for both the Terrain Park
and Sunday’s rail demonstration at Village Square. Park Manager Tim Garden has been
busy over the last few weeks painting boxes and prepping gear in preparation for the
season. Tim is ‘looking forward to seeing all the keen boarders up here, making the
most of the early dump.’

Season 2011 is set to be enormous, with a new Tube Park, Husky Dog Sleds and events
lined up nearly every weekend. With the cheapest lift tickets in Australia Mt Baw Baw
is not surprising that the phones have been ringing off the hook in Guest Services as
people are eager to plan their Mt Baw Baw holiday.
