North Vancouver, June 4, 2008 - The Grouse Grind officially opened today

The Grouse Grind officially opened today and that’s great news for seasoned ‘Grinders’ ready for the start of Social Nights. Every Wednesday, starting June 11th Altitudes Bistro and Patio transform into an evening of socialization and camaraderie as hikers gather and recount their Grouse Grind conquer. Enjoy drink and food specials as well as prizes and fun. Resident DJ Ahtz will be spinning beats all summer long with an eclectic mix of chillout, ambient, downtempo, new jazz, house, and funk. Show up in your hiking gear and join fellow outdoor enthusiasts with hair pasted to their foreheads. With dri-fit tees as the official dress code, this laid back atmosphere brings out the masses.

“Grouse Grind Social Nights are an incredibly popular night,” says Event Manager Jeff Silcock. “Relaxing on the patio with other hikers and outdoor enthusiasts with the view of Vancouver beneath you makes for a pretty unique evening. We’re happy the Grind is finally open so we can re-start this great event.”

Wednesday nights on Grouse Mountain have proven to be a very popular event. This past winter season marked the first year of Winter Social Nights. Skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers and ice skaters showed up on Wednesdays for a winter version of the evening.

Grouse Grind Social Nights officially begins Wednesday June 11th from 6pm til late. Join the fun on the patio in fair weather, or move inside if the Vancouver rain makes an appearance.
