Freestylers Entertain The Crowds During Remarkables Rampage (24-Aug-08)

The Remarkables, NZ, August 24, 2008 - Top New Zealand and international freestylers wowed the crowds

Top New Zealand and international freestylers wowed the crowds during The Remarkables Rampage Slopestyle event.

Conditions were perfect for competitors who impressed both judges and spectators with their consistently strong technical ability.

Josh Clark, Youth Action Sports Co-ordinator for The Remarkables and Coronet Peak said the crowd enjoyed some pretty gnarly tricks.

“It was quite a challenging course in that it was long and included seven major features but the standard of performance was really strong,” he said.

He said Nick Hyne (member of the Parklife Rider Team) won the Men’s Snowboard event by putting together some impressive jumps and fairly technical freestyle moves.

“Shelley Gotlieb always rides hard and strong and put in a solid performance to win the Women’s Snowboard event.”

Jonas Marcinko and Jennifer Hirsh won the Men’s Ski and Women’s Ski events respectively.
